A Technician reported that one of our member could not download anything using IE and that it was not the first time he saw that. There was no any error message. The download dialog popped out and the progress bar went to 100%. It looked like the downloading was finished. But no file could be found on the hard drive. Here are steps I took to solve the problem:
- Reset IE and Security Settings – Not work
- Cleaned IE temporary files and increased the space – Not work
- Removed Read Only on IE temporary file folder and subfolders – Not work
- Checked for virus, spyware – Nothing found wrong
- Moved IE temporary folder to another location – Not work
- Removed AVG – WORKED!
It turned out the corrupted AVG caused the problem. AVG, I cannot say I like you.
