Client called and complained he could not set any printers as the default printer. Remotely logged into the computer and found nothing happened after clicked “Set as Default Printer”. Ran “Regedit” and opened registry and found out the REG_SZ value “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\Device” was missing. Manually created the registry value, set up the right permission, logged off and logged on again, problem has been solved.
